An Extra Cost Option will normally be a DLL or a Visual Basic macro that adds to your Alphacam module something that is of specific interest to you. The option can be a new feature offered to all, or it can be an existing feature that is integrated into Advanced modules but not sold as a standard feature with Basic or Standard modules - for example Advanced Nesting.
IMPORTANT NOTE!! The following information applies to users running Alphacam V7 or prior. As of Alphacam V7.5, Extra Cost Options are handled differently due to the change in Alphacam licensing.
Until you buy it, you can try out any Extra Cost Option free of charge for a fixed number of sessions in any Alphacam module. This means that you can try it out many times during each Alphacam session – the number of tries is reduced by one each time you use it for the first time each session.
To try an Extra Cost Option, select the relevant option from the UTILS | Add-Ins menu. This gives you access to all the extra cost options available at the time of the the last Alphacam update.
If you can not see the Extra Cost Option you are looking for, you should ensure that you have the very latest version of Alphacam, since Extra Cost Options are included on the Alphacam CD.
If you decide to buy it, click on the Buy button in the first dialog box and complete the registration details. Send these details to Alphacam UK (by fax or e-mail - you are given instructions on screen). We will require an official purchase order from your company before sending you a registration code. If you are in the UK, we will contact you directly. If you are not in the UK, we will ask your dealer to ask you for a purchase order.
You should enter the registration code the next time you use the option.
IMPORTANT: Your Alphacam version must be the September 1999 version or later to use Extra Cost Options.
