Customer Quick Start Guide

You must be an existing AlphaCAM customer in order to use AlphaCAM OnLine.

The following is an introduction to setting up your account and using the web-based Account Management options in AlphaCAM OnLine. It is a step-by-step guide to setting up a customer account, adding credit to your account, and viewing and changing your details.

Installing AlphaCAM OnLine

Your normal AlphaCAM CD (from May 2001) includes OnLine versions of all the AlphaCAM modules.

Run Setup from your CD and when asked to select which protection system you are using (DK2 or HASP key etc) select OnLine (via Internet).

You can install OnLine modules in the same folder as your normal (key protected) modules if you wish (e.g. Alpha01). You do not have to match the OnLine modules with your normal modules - you can have normal Standard Mill AlphaCAM and install Basic, Standard, Advanced Mill and/or some Lathe OnLine modules, then can select which of them to use to suit the job to be done. You can install OnLine modules on as many computers as you want, for example at home, to use at weekends for rush jobs.

Before you can use OnLine, you must set up an account. One account can be used from any computer - you do not need a separate account for each computer.

IMPORTANT: If you operate behind a firewall (speak to your System Administrator if you are unsure), you will need to open two TCP ports - 3316 and 3317 - for outgoing connections. There are never any connections coming from the Licom servers to you. This will not affect the security of your network. Incoming traffic need not be permitted. AlphaCAM OnLine will operate through proxies using SOCKS 4 or 4a authentication protocols.

Setting up your AlphaCAM OnLine account

The first stage is for the OnLine Administrator for your company (which could be you) to request an account. This can be done directly via the Licom Web Site or by requesting your AlphaCAM Distributor to do it for you.

  1. Select Request your AlphaCAM OnLine Account under New Users on the AlphaCAM OnLine website main menu.
  2. Enter all the required details on the form and press the Submit button.
Be sure to select the correct distributor, if you know who it is. Failing to do so will delay your application.

Having set up your account, you will need to add credit, either by credit card or by company purchase order (see below). You can use either of these methods, but be aware that if you pay by credit card, your account is credited immediately (subject to acceptance), whereas company purchase orders must be cleared by your distributor.

REMEMBER: Your AlphaCAM OnLine account must be enabled by your distributor before you can use it.

Using the AlphaCAM OnLine Customer Administration Website

  1. Log In
Enter your account number and Administrator password under the Existing Users section of the main menu. You will have received these details by e-mail.

  2. Add credit to your account
You can add credit by credit card or company purchase order.

    1. Select Add Credit by Credit Card to add credit to your account using a credit card. Select the required amount to be credited to your account (minimum $100 or local currency equivalent for each payment).
You are asked to confirm the transaction, before proceeding to the WorldPay site.
Complete the WorldPay form, as appropriate. Your name and address details are passed from the AlphaCAM OnLine site.
You can choose to debit your credit card in US Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling or Japanese Yen.
      Select Make Payment to proceed.
For security reasons, it is recommended that you make a note of your WorldPay User Name, Password, and transaction ID and to click on the End WorldPay Session button.
Click on the Click here to continue button to return to the main menu.

    2. Select Add Credit by Purchase Order (through Distributor) to add credit to your account by company purchase order.
Purchase order transactions are dealt with by your distributor, who will credit your account subject to status.
      Enter Order Reference Number.
Select the required amount to be credited to your account (minimum $100 or local currency equivalent for each payment).

  3. View Statement
Select View Statement from the main menu.
A breakdown of transactions is displayed on a month-by-month basis and your current balance is displayed.
Click on a highlighted month name. A summary of daily transactions for the selected month and your current balance are displayed.
Click on a highlighted date. A detailed breakdown of transactions and your current balance are displayed.

  4. To Edit your details
Select View/Amend your AlphaCAM OnLine account details from the main menu.
Make a change to your details. An e-mail is sent to you whenever a change is made to your account to advise you of your updated details. This also acts as a security measure.

Notes:

AlphaCAM OnLine's working currency is the US Dollar, but you manage your account using one of four available currencies: Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling, or Japanese Yen. These are the four settlement currencies available when adding credit to your account by credit card. The exchange rate is updated daily and is provided by WorldPay. For this reason, prices may fluctuate slightly from day to day as the exchange rates change.

Credit card transactions take place over a secure connection through WorldPay - a third party credit card company with a proven track record for e-commerce security. No credit card details are kept by Licom. Your account is credited immediately on acceptance of your credit card details.

Using the AlphaCAM OnLine System

  1. Ensure you have installed the required AlphaCAM OnLine module(s) - see above.
  2. The first time you use an AlphaCAM OnLine module you will be prompted for your username and password (this is your User Password, not the Administrator Password and was sent to you by e-mail when you set up your account).
You can tell AlphaCAM OnLine to remember your User password so that you do not have to type it in each time you log on.

Notes:

You do not need a separate account for each module, and you can run as many simultaneous copies of AlphaCAM as you like on your computer. One account number works for all OnLine module.

AlphaCAM OnLine works identically to normal AlphaCAM, but requires no dongle instead, it requires you to log-in once at the start of a session. Click on a module to launch the appropriate OnLine version of the module.

Occasionally you may see a message saying that an update is being downloaded. This is not an update of the module being used. To update your OnLine modules you must update your AlphaCAM CD as normal. Contact your Distributor about this.

You can hide the AlphaCAM OnLine status window by clicking on the minimize button (the minus sign on the top right hand side of the status window). To show the status window, double-click on the AlphaCAM OnLine logo button in the system tray at the bottom right of your screen.

Select Help from the main menu for detailed help on the web administration system.
